Weekly Internship for Summer Workshops
Each week would consist of Monday thru Friday 9-noon workshop or 1-4pm –July 19-August 20 Job Description: Workshop assistant with some teaching involved Coordinate and organize supplies for workshops a week in advance
Day of workshop
• Set up supplies
• Greet students
• Assist in class
• Teach certain projects coordinated with teacher
• Clean up Prepare for next day workshop – make sure all needed supplies are ready
Intern may take time off to attend workshops offered. Any time off must coordinate with director as soon as possible.

Paper and Prints July 13-17 1-3:30pm

Using various techniques students will discover the properties and boundaries of paper. Students need to bring pictures that will be copied and used.

Bins, Boxes and Bags July 20-24 1-3:30pm
w/ Hilary Forsyth
Students will explore functionality using fabric scraps, mat board, newspaper and more recycled materials. Students will also work on color theory while developing paint mixing skills.

Little Masters July 27-31 1-3:30pm

A favorite, this class will explore drawing and painting basics with students creating a portfolio.

Sculpting In Nature August 10-14 1-3:30pm
w/Alicia Matesanz de las Heras
Using objects found in the environment, participants will construct both an individual and group sculpture project. Discussions will focus on temporary installations and how they are affected by wind, sun, rain, and snow.

Spend a week immersed in t he imaginative worlds of dragons, witches, space, planets, daemons, familiars and fantastic animals.

Using deduction and cognitive thinking skills students will explore the world of glass art.

CLASSES FOR ADULTS
Digital Photography July 13-17 9am-Noon
w/ Bradley Yule
Acquire the skills necessary to produce quality images. This course will focus on the camera and how it takes pictures. And, then take you to the possibilities with Photoshop.

Drawing: The Groundwork to Painting July 27-30 1-3:30pm

This is an intensive 4 day drawing class on learning the fundamental tool in the ability to see. There will be indoor and outdoor work.

For beginners to advanced students, this will be a concentrated class where various tips in pastels will be covered.

Color Theory for Beginners August 10-14 1-3:30pm

Have you ever been stuck in a piece of artwork wondering where to go? Students will learn how basic color theory applies to image making.

• Compositional elements
• Form, value and color through color schemes
How to See With Your Camera August 17-21 1-3pm
w/ Sandy Kaplan
This class with be two fold. It will teach people to get off the automatic mode of their camera and how to use focal length, shutter speed and to be selective.
