Some lecture, some hands-on experimentation, and some critique of original works.  Discussion of how the elements of art can be your tools for improving your painting, getting it to say what you want.  How to use color to push or pull distance.  How shape and size influence how we "see" the subject matter.  Hard and soft edges may make all the difference.  What is "value" and why is it important?  These topics will be discussed.

For this exercise, we will use acrylics...and all materials will be provided.
